SPEEDING BIKER ARRESTED IN VRYBURG

A feisty, unnamed motorcyclist was trapped doing 226km/h on a 120km/h limit freeway in the North West yesterday. According to the province’s Public Safety Department, the man was riding his superbike near Vryburg when the electronic speed reader clocked him 106km/h over the national speed limit.

Apparently the trapping police officer tried to hail him down but to no avail. Frankly I can’t imagine one trying to stop a bike from 226km/h to nought within the time a copper jumps out of his little brush of bush, into the street. Nevertheless the biker was later caught and arrested. He’s scheduled to make an appearance at the Vryburg magistrate’s court this morning on charges of reckless and negligent riding.
