MAZDA FIGHTING RHINO POACHING

The Mazda Wildlife Fund together with the Mazda Dealer Network demonstrated their support in the fight against rhino poaching by donating a Mazda BT-50 as a prize in Primedia’s call to raise funds for the SANParks’ Honorary Rangers. 

2011 SUZUKI SWIFT HONOURED IN JAPAN


The all-new Suzuki Swift has received yet another international accolade. The award-winning compact hatch, introduced in Japan and Europe only a few months ago, has been named 2011 Car of the Year by the Automotive Researchers’ and Journalists’ Conference of Japan (RJC).

The furious BMW 1 Series M Coupe is coming to South Africa in May 2011 and it promises to redecorate our roads with extra layers of melted rubber! DAIMLER SOUTH AFRICA WINS RIGHT TO BUILD NEXT C-CLASS



Mercedes-Benz South Africa (Pty) Ltd. (MBSA), a unit of Daimler AG, today received confirmation of the production of the next-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class, following extensive planning and preparation to present the East London plant as an optimal manufacturing location within the global production network.

MINI have just added another derivative to its ever-growing list of body shapes. The new Countryman is now being sold in South Africa with two engine choices. I got to drive it for a while and came out impressed. But in the end, it’s nothing like the MINI you know and love.

VOLVO BEGINS INTEGRATING WITH GEELY

Geely Automobile has set up a committee to facilitate communications with Volvo in one of its first concrete steps at integration since Geely's parent bought the Swedish carmaker from Ford earlier this year.

Geely and Volvo will each send four people to the nine-member committee, chaired by Geely founder and chairman Li Shufu, a company statement said.

MINI RALLY RACER OFF ON CAMPAIGN TRAIL

The X-raid Team unveiled an exciting new cross-country motor sport programme to run and develop the MINI All4 Racing in international competition.

The project was first discussed in the summer of 2009 and the competitive debut of the new MINI All4 Racing will be in the hands of the French rally crew of Guerlain Chicherit and co-driver Michel Périn in January’s 33rd Personal Dakar Argentina-Chile. The event starts in Buenos Aires on New Year’s Day and finishes in the Argentine capital on Sunday, January 16th, 2011.

GOLF BLUEMOTION CAN DO 1300KM ON ONE TANK!




The most fuel efficient Volkswagen Golf has just been announced by Volkswagen South Africa. The Golf TDI BlueMotion is said to be able to run for a total of 1 300km on a full tank of fuel. This is about the same distance as beween the southern outskirts of Johannesburg and the entry towns of Cape Town. All that from a 55 litre diesel tank.
