BISMARCK DU PLESSIS FALLS FOR A RANGER

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) recently handed over a brand new 3.2TDCi XLT 4x4 6speed Auto Double Cab to rugby star Bismarck du Plessis. The sponsorship is a perfect fit between the top vehicle in its segment and one of the toughest rugby players in the business.

“We’re delighted to have Bismarck representing the Ford brand,” says Gavin Golightly, Ford Marketing Manager. “He is an integral part of the South African Rugby team and a hero to many South Africans.”

Ford’s Tough Truck ethos is founded on the basis of Ford’s revered Truck history. With a heritage that dates back 90 years, Ford has established itself as one of the leaders in the segment with its latest offering in the pick-up segment, the class leading Ford Ranger..

Bismarck is looking forward to driving his new Ford Ranger 4x4 Double Cab in his daily travels as well as to various events during the course of the year.

“I’m looking forward to putting my new Ford Ranger through its paces. It’s an honour to have been chosen by Ford to represent their brand and specifically the all-new Ranger.  I’ve read all the positive reviews in the media the past few months and now I will experience this amazing vehicle for myself” explains du Plessis.

The Ford Ranger is built locally at Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa's Silverton Assembly plant. Powered by a 3.2-litre common rail diesel engine the Ranger produces 147kW at 3 000rpm and 470Nm at 1 500rpm resulting in rapid engine response and great fuel economy.

“We wish Bismarck many happy kilometres in his new Ford Ranger and we look forward to having him on board as a Ford representative,” concludes Golightly.
