CITROEN SA CONFIRMS DS3 155 THP ULTRA PRESTIGE




Citroen South Africa has made one of its boldest moves yet, following its introduction of the DS3 Racing in ultra-limited numbers in June last year. They have announced that come June this year, the DS3 155 THP Ultra Prestige will knock down our doors and make direct rivals like the Alfa Romeo MiTo look twice.

NEW SALES LEADER IN SA CAR MARKET



The South African car market showed some dull growth, according to February sales figures. Up less than 1% in both total market and passenger market, the industry nevertheless grew 2.8% on reported January sales. All in all 49 556 vehicles found new homes last month.

JAGUAR SHOWS OFF XF SPORTBRAKE BEFORE GENEVA






The new Jaguar XF Sportbrake is really a station wagon version of the beautiful Jaguar XF sedan. It is being prepared for full public consumption at the 2012 Geneva International Motor Show. Wagons are generally more popular in Europe than they are in other continents, so a Mzansi introduction is, while entirely possible, highly unlikely.

Volkswagen South Africa chose the very scenic Western Cape to launch the brand new Golf Cabriolet. Just as well because this was one of the few places around the country where some sun was shining and the breeze light. This is just the kind of car for such occasions.

Today Ferrari unveiled its most powerful car ever, the F12berlinetta. Weird name yes, but still a magnificent-looking thing with an incredible technical ability, from what we can see. CITROEN DS3 RACING SEBASTIEN LOEB EDITION






At the 2012 Geneva International Motor Show which starts next week on the 6th , Citroën will debut the DS3 Racing S. Loeb, a car that’s based on the DS3 line, specifically the DS3 Racing, but with some added spice. Thanks to its on-going association with multiple WRC champion, the car should already be sold out in its tiny niche of 200 units.

MINISTER WELCOMES SENTENCE OF MULTIPLE SCHOOL KID KILLER


Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele has welcomed the Western Cape High Court's sentence imposed earlier today (Tuesday, 28 February 2012) on mini-bus taxi driver Jacob Humphreys for killing 10 children, as well as the attempted murder of four others.

Suzuki Motor Corporation is to establish a joint venture company, SMILE FC System Corporation (SMILE FC), for developing and manufacturing fuel cell systems with Intelligent Energy Holdings PLC (IEH) of the UK.
 

TATA PLEDGES TO SPEND MORE ON JAGUAR LAND ROVER



According to a report from Mumbai, Tata Motors, the owner of Jaguar and Land Rover, plans to increase its annual investments in those two halo brands to £1.5 billion (about R18.1 billion). So far the two have spent up to £800 million (R9.7 billion) per year on capital expenditure and product development.
