The Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA), in
association with Kia Motors South Africa are one of the proud sponsors of the
18th Annual MTN South African Music Awards. The awards celebration is based on
South African musical performances in multiple categories. The nominees for the
SAMA Awards 2012 were announced on March 8 at The Forum – Turbine Hall in
Newtown, Johannesburg. The awards ceremony has an array of talented performers
who stand a chance of winning the prestigious accolade. These awards will be
taking place on Sunday 29 April and Monday 30 April at the Sun City Resort.

SPEEDING BIKER ARRESTED IN VRYBURG

A feisty, unnamed motorcyclist
was trapped doing 226km/h on a
120km/h limit freeway in the North West yesterday.
According to the province’s Public Safety Department, the man was riding his
superbike near Vryburg when the electronic
speed reader clocked him 106km/h
over the national speed limit.

HONDA INSIGHT FACELIFT REVEALED

The Honda Insight,
billed as the only direct competitor
to the ruling Toyota Prius, has been
refreshed for the 2012 year. Launched in Mzansi in November 2010, the Insight sold at about R100 000 less than Prius, but featured similar hybrid technologies. While the new facelift car is still much cheaper
than its rival, the rift has shrunk
significantly.
