KIA TO MAKE MUSIC AT 2012 SAMAS


The Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA), in association with Kia Motors South Africa are one of the proud sponsors of the 18th Annual MTN South African Music Awards. The awards celebration is based on South African musical performances in multiple categories. The nominees for the SAMA Awards 2012 were announced on March 8 at The Forum – Turbine Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg. The awards ceremony has an array of talented performers who stand a chance of winning the prestigious accolade. These awards will be taking place on Sunday 29 April and Monday 30 April at the Sun City Resort.

In the official announcement of the 29 genre categories, one of KMSA’s brand ambassadors managed to scoop two nominations. Accomplished kwaito star and performer, Kabelo “Bouga Luv” Mabalane’s 2011 record, “Amapantsula Ajabulile” is up for a MTN South African Music Award. This includes a nomination for Record of the Year and Best Kwaito Album, where he is competing against world renowned artists such as; Prime Circle, Lira, Zahara and many more.

Kabelo has multiple achievements under his belt, such as winning the Kora Award for Best Southern Africa Male Artist. Kabelo also performed at 2010 Fifa World Cup Opening Ceremony along with his TKZEE Band members. He is well respected in the South African music industry. “He is inspirational and aspirational to so many South Africans because of his success in music and in life,” says Kia Motors South Africa’s PR and Product Marketing Manager, Andre Pretorius.

The New Kia Optima will be making its Debut Appearance at the South African Music Awards. Kia South Africa will be assigning a total of fifteen new Kia Optima models to some of the talented artists for the awards ceremony. This will provide the celebrities with a luxurious Kia experience as they will be chauffeured in the latest head-turning addition to the Kia Family. “It is a great honour to present our latest vehicle offering to the public at the awards ceremony”, adds Kia Motors South Africa’s National Marketing Manager David Sieff. 

“We are ready to take the Kia brand to another level with the new Optima, and the South African Music Awards will help us showcase the vehicle and create an even greater brand awareness” he concludes.
