The new BMW 5 Series Sedan is consolidating its position as a global standard for aesthetics, driving pleasure, and safety. Hyundai has launched the facelift Santa Fe in the Mzansi market amid a sharp spike in the company’s growth curve and forecasts. Spurred on by products like the i20 and the ix35, Hyundai is making exceptional progress in sales, such that market speculators place both it and sister company Kia among the top three car retailers in the country. Today the one millionth Audi in China – a metallic blue Q5 – was handed over to a customer from Changchun. This landmark figure exemplifies a unique success story that began in 1988 with a license agreement between Audi and FAW covering the assembly of the Audi 100. The one-million milestone was marked with ceremony held in Changchun. In attendance were the Board of Management of AUDI AG, the partners from First Automobile Works (FAW) and more than 7 000 guests, including the plant employees.

BMW, CITROEN, PEUGEOT SIGN FURTHER COOPERATION AGREEMENT

The BMW Group and PSA Peugeot Citroën intend to expand their successful cooperation by including hybrid components for front-wheel-drive vehicles.

BMW RETURNS TO DTM RACING

The return of BMW to the DTM from 2012 is reality: This was confirmed by the company during the DTM race weekend at the Hockenheimring. In April this year BMW had announced its intention to race in the DTM in principle from 2012, the first time since its departure from the series in 1994. The Board of Management of BMW AG considers conditions tied to a positive decision to return to the popular touring car series have now been met.

Charl Wilken and Greg Godrich scorched through 12 stages in Gauteng - winning six of them - to dominate the final round of the 2010 Sasol South African Rally Championship, giving the Basil Read/bizhub Ford Fiesta S2000 its maiden win. The winners finished 1 min. 24,8 sec. ahead of their nearest competitors, the similar Ford Fiesta of former World Rally Championship driver Conrad Rautenbach and navigator Peter Marsh.

Today East London sees the departure of a record consignment of 3 280 locally built Mercedes-Benz C-Class cars, destined for the United States of America on the Martorell vessel. This is the single largest shipping consignment from Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA). But what makes this shipment even more noteworthy is that MBSA loaded its 100 000th Mercedes-Benz C-Class for export to the US - truly a milestone in our South African vehicle export history!
