Ferrari’s 4.5-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine has won
Best Performance Engine for the second year running in the prestigious
International Engine of the Year Awards, beating several new contenders with
forced induction engines for the title. Ferrari’s thoroughbred dry-sump,
flat-crank, 90-degree V8 also took the accolade in the Above 4-litre category
for the second time.

The history making Top Gear Live Stunt Team has set a new
world record by becoming the first to complete a spectacular double
loop-the-loop on four wheels. The ground-breaking feat – dubbed the Deadly 720
– was the amazing finale to the first of four Top Gear Festival shows staged in
front of a sell-out 15 000+ live audience at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban,
South Africa (15 to 16 June).
HEAVY GROENEWALD CLINGS TO 6TH PLACE

Sasol Racing Circuit Team went to the Top Gear Festival in
Durban for round 5 of the Bridgestone Production Car Championship expecting a
tough weekend and that is exactly what they got. Hennie Groenewald
pocketed a few points for 6th place in Saturday’s race, scant reward for SP
Race Engineering’s hard work, but fortunately the team left with both cars
intact, ready to fight again at Phakisa in early August.
