CITROEN DS5 AMONG WORLD'S BEST CARS

The finalists for the 2012 World Car of the Year Award have been announced and the Citroën DS5 is honoured to be one of them.

The World Car Of The year competition is the most international of all the annual awards. Contenders must be new vehicles and have maximum appeal across all continents. They must be sold in at least five countries, on at least two continents prior to January 1 2012.

Selected by a pool of 66 international automotive journalists from 22 countries, the DS5 finds itself amongst a selection of significant candidates representing a group of vehicles that enjoy worldwide acclaim.

The finalists will be rated on overall merit, value, safety, environmental responsibility and emotional appeal.

Building on 90 years of innovation, the Citroën brand has extended its product offering and developed a new line to stand alongside its main range:  the DS line.

Today, comprising the Citroën DS3 and DS4, the DS line targets customers looking for radical and assertive cars and seeking a resolutely modern approach to premium products.

Citroën completes the DS-line with the appealing DS5, scheduled to be launched in South Africa in mid-2012. This innovative and visionary model features even bolder choices in style, design and refinement.

The Citroën DS5 experience is about fully embracing the pleasure of driving an outstanding vehicle. A singular creation, the Citroën DS5 surprises and appeals with its styling, its intelligent design, its technology and road performance.

The Citroën DS5 will have to survive two more rounds of voting before being chosen as a possible World Car of the Year winner.  The overall winner in each category will be announced at the New York International Auto Show on Thursday, 5 April 2012.
