A South African Jaguar dealer
sales executive says he and his colleagues are getting ready to welcome the fastest,
most powerful sedan ever produced by
the brand. The man, who spoke anonymously to IN4RIDE, says the XFR S is on its way here, along with the XKR S Convertible. Both these products
point to an aggressive stance on the
kitty’s part, especially considering
that the German rivals aren’t sitting on their laurels either.
The XFR S is of course based on the XF sedan, but is more
powerful than the XFR. It uses the same 5.0-litre
V8 supercharged engine, but instead of 375kW,
it makes a more entertaining 405kW
and peak torque of 680Nm. Acceleration should be around 4.4 or 4.5 seconds to 100km/h. Clearly its chief
rival will be the new BMW M5, with
the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG riding
shotgun if specified with the AMG Performance Pack worth 410kW.
The car will come kitted differently from the XFR, with more menacing bits like the front grille and rear spoiler. Suspension will
also be decidedly harder, and hence sportier for even better handling. Look
to receive the XFR S in South Africa
before June at a price that will tip over the R1 million mark.
XKR S Convertible is of course an offshoot of the XK, XKR and XKRS Coupe. Its biggest headache
will appear in the form of the BMW M6
Convertible, which has been confirmed for SA before June.

Yes but at what price if I may ask?
No pricing yet Anon, but we expect something in the region of R1.2 million, in line with competitors some of who, admittedly, are more powerful.
