GEELY SA TO SELL CHINESE BAKKIES

China’s love affair with Mzansi grows by the month. Just last month, the Chongqing Sokon Motor Group Import and Export Company (sorry, there’s no shorter nickname) announced it was entering the local light commercial vehicles (LCV) market. The local arm of Geely Motors will be the full importer and distributor through its dealership network.

The arrangement for now will involve bakkies, single and double cab, a small mini bus and a cargo van. Engines are 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre in size.

“This is a very exciting new development for us and allows us to introduce a new brand in the light commercial vehicle market that will offer a whole new dimension in value-for-money,” said John Jessup, CEO of Geely South Africa.

DFSK vehicle prices
