LEXUS IS 350 PLANNED FOR SA DEBUT

Lexus will add another IS model when it launches the IS 350 to the Mzansi market later next month. The car will also be shown at JIMS 2011. It comes at a time when the IS is etching towards the end of its lifecycle. A replacement should appear within the next 18 months.

The IS 350 fills the gap between the V8-powered IS-F and the lesser IS 250 cars. It is powered by 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6. Maximum thrust is 228kW, matched to 375Nm of torque. Its’ certainly one of the most powerful cars in its segment. Matched to it is a 6-speed automatic gearbox sending all power to the rear wheels.

Lexus is really good at packing their cars full of some very expensive options, for no price at all. For the IS 350 that includes things like LED daytime running lights, keyless engine start, satellite navigation, a premium sound system and reversing camera.
