African Americans, or black people in the US, are buying more Toyotas than any other car brand. This is according to automotive data and marketing solutions company R.L. Polk & Co. Just under 13% of all Americans are black, meaning there are around 39 million Afro Americans living in the US today. And most of the 641 000 who bought a new motor vehicle in 2011 chose a Toyota.
The rest of the list is a mix of American and Asian brands and reads as thus, in order of next-best after Toyota: Ford, Chevrolet, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, dodge, GMC and lastly Volkswagen.
Interestingly, despite the hip-hop videos and MTV Cribs garages, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Bentley and BMW don’t seem to feature so prominently on this list. But then again, these brands do make expensive cars.

My family also has supported Toyota since 1985

That just means that African Americans are not paid enough to buy the likes of exus, Mercedes-Benz, Bentley and BMW. I they were you best believe they'd be rolling in those brands, "picture me rollin'".
