ONE&ONLY HOSTS BMW 6 SERIES WORLD LAUNCH

ONE&ONLY Cape Town, the brand’s first urban resort, is well positioned to take advantage of the expected upswing in global tourism this year. With a new managing director at the helm, and trading well above its competitor set in the last four months, this resort hotel looks forward to offering competitively priced accommodation and other innovatively priced package rates to locals in the winter months ahead.

“With the introduction of Reuben’s into the One&Only Cape Town dining mix, we’re already seeing many more South Africans here,” says recently appointed Managing Director Clive Bennett, “and that’s what we’re about: extending a warm and generous welcome to South Africans and encouraging them to feel at home.”

And how better to take advantage of this welcome than at the One&Only Spa Designed as an integral part of the resort, the Spa was recently voted by the authoritative North American online Spa Guide as its favourite in Africa. This oasis of tranquility is built on its own island, set among the tropical gardens and waterways of the marina. Spa manager Rosy Read, who oversees its 12 luxurious treatment rooms, has introduced a new affordable price list that’s more in line with what Capetonians expect from a luxury spa of this calibre. All spa guests can use the public spa facilities, spend the day at the pool, order cocktails from the bar and enjoy the special Spa menus at Isola. “We will also be introducing excellent competitively priced spa and accommodation packages on an ongoing basis, as well as wedding and corporate packages, all of which are part of our plan to truly further integrate this hotel in to the fabric of our city,” adds Bennett.

A recent development is the active promotion of weddings at the hotel. “With our turnkey specialist wedding consultant service and variety of superb facilities and venues, including the Penthouses with their magnificent views of the mountain and the bay, we’re able to host personalised wedding celebrations for 10 to 120 guests,” says Bennett. “We’ve conceptualised a host of wedding packages to meet various budgets, with food prices starting at R395 per person. A One&Only Cape Town wedding is truly a once-in-a-lifetime affair.”

Bennett adds that, according to the independent Star Reports, which chart the occupancy levels of hotels around the world, One&Only Cape Town has been in the top two performers in this city for the past seven months within the five-star hotel market. “And we recently played host to over 400 leading motoring and leisure journalists from around the globe, here for the launch of the BMW 6 Series Convertible,” he adds. “The fact that a premium brand such as BMW chose Cape Town and the One&Only for its international launch reflects the future opportunity for further such luxury brand association and product launches.”

But, Bennett concludes, “The hospitality business is about feeling at home and more than anything that’s what we’re about. We extend a warm welcome to all Capetonians to visit our restaurants, bar and spa facilities for some down time and experience One&Only Cape Town’s genuine hospitality and generosity.”
