PEUGEOT UPS ANTE ON 206 SERVICE

The Peugeot 206, lynchpin of the brand in South Africa from 2002 to 2007, has just been made a whole lot more appealing as an ownership proposition.

That’s thanks to the introduction of Fixed Price Servicing at Peugeot dealerships around the country, who will now be able to service both petrol and diesel versions of the popular supermini for as little as R890 – including VAT! The price includes new oil and oil filter, air filter, spark plugs (on petrol engines) and the sump gasket. It also includes the inspection of all fluid levels a bumper to bumper safety check, and car wash.

This inflation-busting pricing is more proof that the perception of Peugeots being expensive to service and maintain due to high prices is a fallacy, and the cost of parts – both on previous generation cars and current ones – continues to be driven down. This is thanks to ongoing efforts all along the supply chain.

“Servicing at a Peugeot dealer makes sense, because our staff not only has all the necessary skills and equipment to carry out the work but can also accurately assess the condition of the car in other areas,” explains Peugeot’s General Manager for After Sales, Eric Moll. “When considering the fact that only Peugeot Genuine Parts are used – especially important in areas such as air and oil filtration – and it becomes obvious that the value being offered here is exceptional.”

Not only is Peugeot making strides in the area of parts pricing, but similar progress has been made in getting parts to the dealers in double-quick time. Depending on dealer location, there can be up to four deliveries in a 24 hour period, including one at night for Gauteng outlets. Dealers can now conceivably receive a part within 90 minutes of placing an order.

The overnight delivery will mean that a technician can leave his workstation at 4 pm in the afternoon knowing that the part he ordered after 1 pm will be available when he arrives at work early the next morning.

In addition, a commitment has been made to provide owners with a loan vehicle if Peugeot’s local parts infrastructure is unable to provide certain items (excluding service and maintenance parts, and also accessories), requiring it to be ordered directly from France.

Many Peugeots have been sold in South Africa, and all those cars and owners are important to us. Irrespective of the vehicle’s age, parts pricing and availability remain key aspects of an ownership experience and we are continually striving to satisfy all our customers by making it viable to purchase genuine parts and also to have their car serviced at a franchised dealer,” concluded Moll.
