BMW SET TO ANNOUNCE NEW "MEGACITY" ELECTRIC SUB-BRAND

Come Monday 21 February and BMW will reveal another automotive brand for its stable. Set to join BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce, the new brand will focus on electric-powered inter-city mobility solutions. There is no name attached to it yet, although this might change in the next two days as information creeps out. Nevertheless we expect the letter “i” to feature somewhere.

The new brand is based on the Megacity idea of “green” or environmentally-friendly cars built within the framework of sustainability, performance and safety. So expect to hear more about lithium-ion battery packs, electric motors, zero emissions, plug-in systems and lightweight materials. We obviously don’t know what the first car will look like but it will probably be based on the sketch you see among these pages.
