NEW BRAND AMBASSADORS FOR AUDI

Building on the successful introduction of the Audi A1 brand ambassadors, Audi South Africa proudly announces the continuation in the relationship with two popular South African personalities.

Cameron van der Burgh, the South African Olympic swimmer and Jeannie D a well-known South African celebrity will both be driving away in their new Audi A5s.

Cameron has been an Audi Ambassador since the launch of the Audi A1 in January 2011. He truly represents the Audi brand value of ‘Sporty’, and has been paired with an Audi A5 3.0 TDI quattro CoupĂ© emphasizing the sporty attributes of the car.

Van der Burgh’s first major international medal came at the 2007 World Championships in Melbourne, where he won bronze in the 50m breaststroke. In 2008, he captured the attention of the world’s swimming fraternity by winning the award for Best Male Swimmer Overall at the FINA-Arena World Cup, in the process breaking three world records in Moscow and Stockholm.

In 2010 the South African champion confirmed his international supremacy as one of the world’s strongest breaststrokers. He won gold at the Commonwealth Games in both the 50m and 100m breaststroke. He has qualified for the 2012 London Olympics at the World Championships last year and will be competing again on the 16th April 2012 in an effort to improve his already impressive time.

Jeannie D was also introduced to the Audi brand during the launch of the Audi A1.  Her elegant and entrepreneurial personality makes her a perfect fit for the Audi brand.

Jeannie represents the “sophisticated” Audi brand value which is epitomized in the Audi A5 Cabriolet 2.0T quattro. A veteran in the entertainment industry, it’s her sparkling wit and disarming looks and charm that have made her South Africa’s most popular television and media personality.

“Both Cameron and Jeannie are a perfect match for the Audi brand.” said Ryan Searle, Head of Audi South Africa. “Vorsprung is all about being ahead of the game and both personalities represent this attribute admirably.

“We are pleased that both Cameron and Jeannie have decided to continue their relationship with Audi and we look forward to a continued successful partnership in 2012.” Searle concluded.
