RUMOUR: MAHINDRA WANTS SAAB OF THIS

Only weeks after disapproving a Chinese-based takeover of SAAB, supplier General Motors and owner Spyker may be entertaining offers from India, and even Turkey. SUV specialist Mahindra & Mahindra is rumoured to be the main interest bearer. It wants at least some parts of SAAB if not the whole thing.

Automotive News Europe sources say Mahindra is planning to meet with SAAB officials soon, but has not made any official advance as yet. Should the deal eventually happen, India will have acquired its second global premium brand, following Tata’s acquisition of Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford.

Turkey on the other hand, is said to be keen on its own automotive brand, perhaps to position it more favourably in the eyes of European Union members.

Good luck to both loser companies. May the better loser survive this mess of a marriage if it happens

Come to think of it this could be a good match. TATA is doing a good job so far with Jaguar and Land Rover so maybe the same will happen here. Give it a chance Mahindra maybe good fortune will favour you!
