Volvo launched the XC
90 SUV way back in 2003. It actually represented a new design language for
the normally-conservative Swedish
brand (now owned by Chinese company Geely). But 8 years later it looks so long in the tooth that even sabre-toothed tigers would be envious. Unfortunately
there’s still at least 2 more years to stroll through.
With these four artist impression
sketches released by Volvo, the company is teasing
fans and those who prefer other brands. A new design broom has been sweeping through corridors and cars like the
S60 are evidence. While the sketches
point to a new sportier XC 90, they don’t reveal
exactly how it will look. Often such drawings
are far removed from what the final product looks like so don’t expect these to
be anything more than design directions.
