Aston Martin has made a decision to produce the V12 Zagato super car, thanks to positive customer, media and public reaction. The car is a collaboration between AM and Zagato and was first unveiled as a concept car at the prestigious Villa D’ Este Concours on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. Only 150 of these cars will ever be produced.
The Zagato is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 naturally aspirated engine that makes a good 380kW of power, and peak torque of 570Nm. From what its maker says, it will go from 0 – 100km/h in just 4.2 seconds. It comes fitted with a 6-speed manual gearbox and runs on Pirelli P Zero Corsa 255/35 ZR19 up front and 295/30 ZR19 tyres at the rear. Top speed is 305km/h.
Orders have already opened and are being taken on a first-come-first-served basis. The price? Only £330 000 (or about R3.5 million). In South Africa if you are lucky enough to order one you could be staring at a bill for around R4.3 million.
