BARGAIN ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE SNAPPED UP AT AUCTION

A lucky bidder probably saved himself R150 000 or more after driving away with a low km Aston Martin Vantage during a Burchmore’s vehicle auction this past weekend. The unnamed buyer put up a winning bid of R800 000 for the 2006 model V8 sports car, about R150 000 less than what he would normally pay for a similar car on the open used car market. It has 40 000km on the clock.

“We all know that the Aston Martin is James Bond’s favourite car. Auctions at Burchmore’s are always a fun affair. But it was good to bring a touch of glamour to the auction arena,” comments Darryl Jacobson, managing director of Burchmore’s.

This AM has a 4.3-litre V8 engine making 280kW and 409Nm of torque. AM says it’s capable of a 0 – 100km/h time of just less than 5 seconds, and a top velocity of 282km/h.
