Renault’s next-generation design language is becoming much more apparent after the unveiling of this concept car called the Captur. It follows the DeZir Concept of 2010. Renault is presenting the Captur at Geneva 2011, and hopefully also at JIMS 2011 in Johannesburg later this year.
Main design aspects include the new front grille which we’ll see from early next year in cars like the new Clio and others. Exterior features are those LED lights, matt accents, and a convertible hard top, unusual for a car of this nature. At 4.2 metres long, 1.95m wide and 1.57m high, the Captur should end up being one of the peripheral rivals to the BMW X1, upcoming Audi Q3 and even the MINI Countryman.
Power is sourced from a dCi 160 engine with 118kW and 380Nm, plus a dual-clutch gearbox, helping you accelerate from 0 – 100km/h in a claimed 8 seconds. C02 emissions are claimed to be less than 99 g/km.
