GEMBALLA, best known for converting Porsches into super Porsches (as if that was even possible), has been without a leader ever since its CEO Uwe Gemballa disappeared off the face of the earth in February. Last word was that he was spotted in Jozi somewhere, but nothing has been said since then.
But life goes on doesn’t it? So GEMBALLA the company is picking up the dust and forming a new entity. Same name though, without the founder. The new CEO is a man named Andreas Schwarz (40) who apparently has been in charge anyway since the 16th of August.
“With a totally new company and an investment of millions, we are now looking towards a secure future”, says Schwarz. “With a totally new company and an investment of millions, we are now looking towards a secure future. As well as the rights to the name, we've also purchased some assets and are starting off with 22 employees. We plan to continue the GEMBALLA design line following the old models. We're already working on various concepts for the Porsche Panamera and the new Porsche Cayenne among others.”
There you go then, it’s business as usual at GEMBALLA. Just go to their website, which seems to be out of action right now. Hopefully there are no legal issues if and when Uwe returns to the scene.
