Volvo has facelifted the C30 hatchback ahead of its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week. The littlest Volvo now features upgrades in almost every sphere and looks different from the current model. South Africa will also receive this car some time in early 2010.
“Since its introduction in 2006,” says Daniel Backman, Product Manager for the new Volvo C30, “the Volvo C30 has become highly appreciated for its unique appearance. This applies in particular to the rear. With the new front, it feels as though everything has fallen neatly into place and that the car's entire personality has been boosted to an entirely new level.”
The front end has been redesigned with new front wings, angled lines on the bumper, new headlights, two new wheel options and even a new colour called Orange Flame Metallic. The exhaust tailpipe is visible on some high-end models.
Customers who want even more looks out of their C30s will find comfort in a new kit that consists of foglight décor, a front skidplate, side scuff plates with engraved C30 logo and a rear skidplate with an aluminium look.
Engines in the range include are a baseline 1.6-litre with 74kW and 150Nm, a 2.0-litre making 107kW and 185Nm and a range-topping 2.5-litre T5 turbo worth 169kW and 320Nm of torque.
Volvo South Africa is considering offering 12 exterior colours for the C30, 11 leather upholstery choices and active cornering lights.
