MINI COUPE CONCEPT FOR FRANKFURT

MINI is presenting the MINI Coupe Concept car at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The car is what it says it is; a two-door, two-seater with a very demanding design style. By that I mean not everyone will be bowled over as I am about its looks. What does it matter, it is a dramatic style that demands attention and I know it will have it.

Powerful proportions and dynamic design language evoke a sense of desire and strong appeal” is how MINI describes it. Should it make production the Coupe will join the three-door hatch, the Clubman, the Convertible and the upcoming Crossman SUV. Its measurements are 3.7m long, 1.68m wide and 1.356m high.

Running things is the familiar 1.6-litre twin-scroll turbo engine from the JCW worth 155kW (211hp) and 260Nm of torque with its 20Nm overboost function which is mainly for overtaking.
