FACELIFTED BMW 3 SERIES ON ITS WAY

Every three and a half years the premium manufacturers release an “update” of models in their vehicle fleets, a facelift in common language. These facelifts cater to keep said model in fashion and often help introduce new engines to the range. BMW is the same, and come November 2008 we can see the new facelifted BMW 3 Series fresh out of its building plant in Rosslyn, Pretoria. This updated version of BMW’s best selling model will begin production in Rosslyn in October.

More detailed information of all the changes will be made available closer to the launch date, however notable highlights are:

- New front and rear styling for both the sedan and Touring

-Enhanced interior ergonomics and materials

- New iDrive Control concept and functionality – identical to that in the new BMW 7 Series which will be launched in 2009

- New top-end diesel engine – 330d now boasts 180kW and 520 Nm of torque

- The simultaneous debut of a dual-clutch sequential manual transmission for the 335i Coupe and Convertible models

only.
