IDOL KHAYA MTHETHWA TAKES HOME FORD FIESTA

South African Idols winner, Khaya Mthethwa, celebrated his win with the knowledge that he’ll be hitting the road in a stylish new Ford Fiesta 1.6 Titanium. The five-door Fiesta Titanium is sure to garner plenty of attention, with its dynamic design and exhilarating performance; fitted with a 1.6-litre engine it offers the perfect blend of performance and efficiency.

Inside Khaya can look forward to a host of creature comforts including leather interior, auto air conditioning, cruise control as well as a radio/CD/MP3 with 6 speakers, Bluetooth & Voice control, Aux audio connector and USB port; so the music star can enjoy his favourite tunes and stay connected while on the go.

The 25-year-old from Durban clinched the title after a 90-minute Idols finale at the Mosa├»ek Teatro in Fairlands last night. Khaya, received the most public votes and beat 23-year-old Melissa from Port Elizabeth.

Ford has been a major prize sponsor of the eighth season of the show, with Khaya already having had his first taste of the Fiesta and then getting a chance to  shoot his new music video for the single “Move” in and around the car.

“Our involvement with Idols has been a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with like-minded fans. Khaya will no doubt be a great ambassador for the brand and we are excited to see him driving off in a Fiesta Titanium,” said Ford Marketing Manager Gavin Golightly.

Despite his obvious talent, Khaya singing career got off to a bumpy start. At school his teachers were eager to have him join the school choir but he showed little interest. Fortunately for Idols both of Khaya’s parents are pastors, so singing at church was a must and his love for music grew from there. With a growing love for singing and his parents guiding him in the right direction, Khaya has emerged as a role model for young South Africans.
