Opel has confirmed a new entry-level model in its line-up. The smallest Opel will be called the Adam,
presumably after the brand’s founding member Adam Opel. It will be a city car
that falls below the Corsa, but is to be based on a shortened next-generation Corsa platform.
Opel Adam will essentially be a four-seater measuring 3.7 metres long, which is just a little
shorter than a MINI Countryman. In its
sights are cars like the Volkswagen Up!
and other mini cars from mass-market automakers.
It’s expected that Adam will be spotted several engines,
ranging from 1.0-litre to 1.4-litre turbo, and later 1.6-litre turbo as well. Both petrol and
diesel will be represented in this mix.
