SCHUMACHER OVERTAKEN BY TIGER WOODS

Michael Schumacher, the man who has won 7 Formula One Championships - the last 5 in a row, is no longer the highest-paid sportsman of all time. That crown has gone to Tiger Woods. Schumacher, according to the UK Sunday Times’ list, Woods has made US$869 million (R6.8 billion) this far. The Schu on the other hand, has “only” amassed US$823 million (R6.4 billion) so far.

A few years ago an article came out that said Woods would become sport’s first US dollar billionaire. He was actually quite well on his way to achieving this, until the cheating/ sex scandals of 2010 after which he lost millions in sponsorships. His form on the green has also taken a knock and thus he’s unable to earn as fast as was first predicted.

Other notable racing drivers on the list include Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen who both have made about US$161 million (R1.3 billion) a man so far.
