The BMW Zagato Coupe
Concept, a new study unveiled ahead of its debut at the 2012 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on
the shores of Lake Como, could very
well point to a future model. As the name suggests, it was jointly developed by
Italian design and coach-building
house Zagato.
Not the first time the two have collaborated. There were other cars co-developed before the iconic M1 supercar of the 1970s, but probably
none as outstanding as that car was. Now BMW is looking for more wow reactions.
Our first impressions?
It’s a cross between the previous-generation Z4 Coupe and a Honda CR-Z hybrid at the back. Seriously. Take a look and see. Anywho, the concept is
built on aluminium for obvious
lightweight benefits, features a rear diffuser, rides on 19-inch wheels and apparently features a high-performance engine that BMW hasn’t detailed.
