The 2012 Dodge Journey has received an
upgraded engine with extra goodies
to boot. Journey is a 7-seat traveller
for the entire family, with great amounts of space and features. It competes
with cars like the Renault Grand Scenic, Peugeot
5008 and Mazda5 among others. For the 2012 model it gains serious grunt in the form of a 3.6-litre V6 engine.
The said Pentastar motor delivers strong amounts of power and torque to
the amount of 206kW and 353Nm respectively. Both are accessed
through a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Chrysler South Africa didn’t provide performance figures but in the US the car
is claimed to return 11.2 litres per
100km on average.
As per lots of
other Chrysler products in Mzansi,
the Journey comes with Uconnect, an
infotainment system based on touch-screen
technology. It features a 21.3 cm
screen that plays the radio, CDs and MP3s through a USB port and an iPod socket.
Dodge has begun
selling the uplifted Journey through
its local network of dealerships. Potential
buyers can choose between 8 exterior
colours, including something called Storm Grey Pearl Coat.
Pricing is as follows:
3.6-litre V6 SXT (R320 990)
3.6-litre V6 R/T (R360 990)
