ANOTHER BRABUS BEAST ANNOUNCED: 800HP E V12 BREAKS COVER!

BRABUS is known for not letting up until the job is in the bag. A couple of weeks ago the German tuner showed us the new S V12 R monster. Now they are at it again with this E V12 beast which is based on the brand new Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Sadly Mercedes-Benz itself saw it fit not to increase power too much on the new E 63 AMG, keeping things at 386kW. We say that’s not good enough. BRABUS agrees apparently.

And so the new E V12 increases both power and torque to record 588kW (800hp) and maximum torque of 1420Nm (which is electronically limited to 1100Nm). The engine source is the 6.3-litre V8 which has been converted to a 6.0-litre V12 with two turbos.

It’s said to blast off from 0 – 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds, 0 – 200km/h in 9.9 seconds and top off at 350km/h. I doubt in real life you can achieve the claimed fuel figure of 15.7l/ 100km but you can certainly try.

I personally have no qualms with this car. It looks the business with the new front bumper and aggro side sills as well as the rear spoiler and carbon fibre rear diffuser.

My problem is on the rear wheels which are covered like those concept cars of the 1970s and 1980s. What in the world for? They look hideous and I hope all those 10 owners of this limited-production car will have them removed.

Prices begin at €600 000 (R6.6 million) a unit.
