FERRARI F12BERLINETTA FURIOUS IN DURBAN

Viglietti Motors Durban has proudly unleashed the first Ferrari F12berlinetta onto the roads of Kwa-Zulu Natal after an exceptionally lucky and happy customer took delivery of his new award-winning supercar on Saturday 15 June.

Powered by Ferrari’s latest V12 engine – which recently scooped the ‘Best Performance Engine’ and ‘Above 4-litre Engine’ accolades at the prestigious Engine of the Year Awards – the 545kW, 340 km/h, R4.85-million supercar is set to create a stir wherever it may find itself along the beautiful KZN coast or rolling sugar cane hills.

Celebrating its first birthday this June, Viglietti Motors Durban serves as the third official Ferrari dealership featuring full service and retail facilities in South Africa, complemented by its counterparts in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Founded in 1972 in Woodstock, Cape Town, as a general workshop for all makes of vehicles by Viglietti brothers Ferdinando and Luigi, the opening of an engineering division in 1976 saw the rest of the Viglietti brothers and sister Antonetta join the company. Viglietti Motors became the official importer of Ferrari and Lancia vehicles in the Western Cape in the early 1990s, the new showroom incorporating Ferrari and Maserati vehicles opening in 1998 on Roeland Street in Cape Town, where it still stands today.

The Sandton-based Johannesburg branch was opened in 2009 following the official importer contract for sub-Saharan Africa, followed by Viglietti Motors Durban in 2012, both dealerships massively increasing the Ferrari and Maserati footprint in South Africa.

Sales Manager at the Durban branch, Jeremy Eccles, says he is committed to offering the highest levels of customer service and a true ‘Ferrari experience’.

“Our first birthday is indeed a special one and what better way to celebrate than with the delivery of the greatest Ferrari South Africans have ever seen? The new F12berlinetta is the pinnacle of Ferrari technology and design and is a reflection of the Viglietti Motors ethos and style. We wish the lucky owner of the new F12berlinetta the very best and many glorious miles in his new supercar.”
