PEUGEOT ONYX CONFIRMED FOR PARIS 2012

At the 2012 Paris International Motor Show, one of the home players will show off this stunning concept supercar. The Peugeot Onyx is to be unveiled on the 29th in Paris, and signal something that Peugeot has been hinting at for a while now; that it’s going upmarket in a big way pretty soon. Already we’ve seen evidence in the form of the excellent RCZ and the lovely 508 sedan.

This latest concept from Peugeot is of course, still just a concept. We don’t even have any details at all regarding its powertrain, build material, all that. But we can speculate that a powerful hybrid engine is underneath there, probably similar to the one used by the 3008 Hybrid4. Said motor pulls out a total system output of 147kW and 500Nm. The Onyx would probably at least double the power output to match the upcoming new Honda NSX hybrid.

I read somewhere Peugeot is broke so how come they want to make such a fancy sportscar nobody will want to buy?
