BMW’s M Performance
division has begun work on the rest of the range. Now on the list is the 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine powering
the 120d, 320d and 520d. In the
regular models it makes 135kW and 380Nm of torque. With the M Performance
kit we get an upgrade in both power and torque.
The kit will be shown at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in a couple of weeks’ time. It increases power to 147kW and takes torque up to 420Nm,
which trumps the 335i’s 400Nm. BMW
says fuel consumption at C02
emissions were not affected. And neither was the warranty.
M Performance is continuing its concentration on diesel cars for the moment, bar of course the sizzling
M135i. later on we’ll start to see
them develop more petrol models,
which should be quite exciting.
