The United States
is getting Jaguar’s new engines for
the XF sedan ahead of Mzansi. These
motors will place the puss in very
good boots when it comes to the fight for customers normally aligned with the
German premium trio of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. We especially like the new 3.0-litre supercharged V6…
Said V6 dispenses 250kW
of power for the rear wheels, making it as powerful as the BMW ActiveHybrid 5
and Lexus GS 450h. All that of course goes to the rear wheels using an 8-speed automatic transmission. At the
lower end of the scale is an entry-level 2.0-litre
turbo petrol shared with the Range
Rover Evoque, making 177kW. This
particular XF will compete against the 180kW BMW 528i and the 170kW Mercedes-Benz
E300. There is no Audi A6 equivalent in Mzansi.
