According to an Eyewitness
News (EWN) report, an Eagle Liner bus was pegged speeding at over 150km/h
on the freeway! The bus, traveling between Johannesburg and Pretoria, was not exactly caught by the metro police on
camera or laser, but was video shot by a guy who drove alongside it. Obviously he
also broke the law probably twice
while acquiring his footage: first by using presumably a cell phone to shoot
the getaway bus, then by exceeding 120km/h.
The bus company says it has suspended the bus driver, as
well as his controller at the office, pending a full investigation into the matter. The Eagle Liner website claims “Our coaches are tracked by satellite in our
24-hour Operations Control Room to
ensure both our route operation and drivers are constantly monitored.” Therefore
any driver breaking the speed limit would immediately come on their radar. Buses
are not allowed to exceed 100km/h.
Eagle Liner has been in existence for over 16 years and operates 34 buses between Gauteng, Mpumalanga
and KwaZulu Natal.

That is absolutely disgusting. The driver should be locked up if it turns out to be true. No way he can get away with this atrocity.
