MERCEDES-BENZ C 63 AMG BLACK SERIES ON ITS WAY

Spy photographers have caught the brand new Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Black Series during testing. Merc has had Black Series models before in the form of the CLK 63 AMG and SL 65 AMG (IN4RIDE understands billionaire Patrice Motsepe has one of these), but never on a C-Class.

Black Series cars are normally upgraded in many ways, including new front end, side skirts, wider fenders, rear spoilers and diffusers. They also come with some lightweight components such as the wheels, AMG seats, and carbon fibre bits.

Of course under the bonnet changes do also take place. Some have speculated that instead of the 6.3-litre V8 that pushes out 336kW and 600Nm, Merc will install the new 5.5-litre twin turbo V8 and crank out about 380kW. Others insist the 6.3-litre will stick it out for a similar kind of power. Remember that in the SLS AMG that engine is able to crank out 420kW without the help of any turbos or a supercharger.

They're messing consumers about. If they get 380kw from a 5.5-litre twin turbo V8, clearly the 6.3-litre V8 should be pushing out 400kw+.

The Black series of cars is always been a great car range for Benz. My issue will be price if you look at how much a C63 already is costing.

Can Motsepe drive like Clarkson?
