Aston Martin has released details of the new V8 Vantage S, a car that looks just like other Astons, but different. The differences are not immediately apparent to the untrained eye, so to that eye, here they follow. It features carbon fibre on the front bumper, a different front splitter, larger air intake for the brakes and the engine and 19-inch V spoke wheels.
Under the bonnet is a 4.7-litre V8 engine with natural aspiration. It produces 321kW at 7300rpm and 490Nm at 5000rpm. Gears are engaged through a new 7-speed Sportshift transmission. No one at Aston has shed light on performance yet but I think they would claim a sub-5 second 0 – 100km/h sprint time.
"The Vantage S epitomises every attribute of the V8 Vantage and pushes the driver experience beyond what we have offered before," says Dr. Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin, "It combines dynamic exhilaration with all the charming finesse, beauty and practicality already associated with the Vantage range."
Prices were not mentioned so you’d have to visit your nearest AM dealership to find out. For South Africans that means heading up to Sandton or Cape Town.

You say there are differences? I'm sorry but I don't see them. To me this car looks exactly like every other Aston Martin!
I rate they went all Subaru on this. Basically refined an already great car. Took a rifle and added a spear on the other end! And it worked.
This car just looks hot. And in true Aston Martin style lacks the performance figures. Other "older" cars in this class are still quicker than this one. They have aesthetics game in check, now work on the performance.
sorry OXO but I tink it's pointless to ask for performance here. AM seems to be all about looks
Agree with TJ no imagination at all here same bread from same bin
Boooooooooooring!!
