MAZDA BT-50 GETS ITS EDGE

MAZDA SAYS: Mazda is ready to take on the roughest terrain and most demanding topography with the latest edition to the BT-50 range – the limited edition Mazda BT-50 EDGE.  Always ready for adventure, the BT-50 EDGE possesses a powerful 3.0-litre engine and features high-quality extras allowing you to tackle even the roughest playground in style and comfort.

The distinctive EDGE insignia adds additional flavour to the dynamic and sporty nature of the BT-50 range. The limited run of 300 will be exclusive to the 3.0-litre CRDi Double Car 4x2 SLE manual transmission derivatives.

“For those who live the great outdoors the Mazda BT-50 EDGE provides the perfect motivation to break routine and get out in the open. This limited edition Sport Activity Vehicle is a wonderful example of how brawn and beauty work together to create an even more enjoyable ride,” says Doreen Mashinini, Mazda Marketing Manager.

The heart of the BT-50 EDGE, the potent 3.0-litre power plant produces 115kW at 3200rpm and offers a class leading torque of 380Nm at just 1800rpm. It is one of the most powerful pick-ups in its class and has already proved to be a popular choice with South African consumers.

A number of unique accents to the exterior styling set the BT-50 EDGE apart from the crowd. EDGE decals adorn the lower front corners of the front doors, the front and rear scuff plates as well as the tonneau cover. Selective stainless steel detailing such as the sportsbar and side sill protectors reiterate the athletic ability of the BT-50 EDGE. The chrome side mirrors further compliment the overall look.

Packaged as a sports activity vehicle the Mazda BT-50 EDGE caters for the adventurous at heart but without sacrificing on any creature comforts. The luxurious refinement of the cabin interior is almost enough to make you forget that the Mazda BT-50 is a pickup truck. The interior appointments offer user-oriented convenience and utility in a modern package that features sporty and athletic styling.

An in-dash 6-CD changer with MP3 capability, an auxiliary output point, air-conditioning, power windows and mirrors and remote central locking are just a few of the luxurious features available in this model.

The BT-50 EDGE features black leather seats with blue Alcantara leather inserts that are complimented by the blue Alcantara inserts featured on the door panels and the EDGE embroidering which adorns the front carpet overlays.

“Mazda owners are adventurous by nature and the BT-50 EDGE is a true enabler of fun-filled adventures. It's got all the capabilities one desires from a double cab without sacrificing on style and comfort,” concludes Mashinini.

The BT-50 EDGE will be limited to three paint colours: Frozen White; Ocean Blue and Moondust Silver.

Service intervals are stationed every 10 000km and a fully comprehensive 4-year/120 000km Warranty gives added peace of mind. The MazdaMotion 5-year/90 000km Service Plan as well as 3-year Roadside Assistance Plan comes standard.
