One of the cars we really like is the new 147kW Peugeot 208 GTI. It has real guts
and combines these with great interior comforts (except for the driving
position), plus good pricing. Now there’s
a rumour that a 208 GTI Racing is in
the works.
According to a French publication called Auto-Journal, Peugeot is readying a 165kW-or so 208 GTI R that will go after the likes of MINI JCW and possible Renault
Clio RS Gordini. The car would be pulled forward by its two front wheels,
which would be motivated by the existing 1.6-litre
turbo engine.
Should such a car really be in the works, the 2013 Frankfurt International Motor Show
would be a good place to showcase it, or at least its concept version.
