Volkswagen will now be offering a near-bench seating arrangement for the rear seats of the Comfort Coupe or CC. Launched almost exactly a year ago, the CC had initially been sold as a four-seat, four-door coupe.
Apparently customers liked the shape and value on offer, but were turned off
by the four seats. We are South Africans and we like ferrying entire neighbourhoods in our cars. Prices were not increased as a result of the new optional seat.
The CC comes in four models, with the 2.0 TSI engine worth 147kW being the baseline petrol model and supplied with either a manual or a DSG gearbox. The second petrol is the 3.6-litre V6 running on all four wheels through the 4Motion AWD system and a DSG. The V6 produces 220kW. One diesel in the form of a 2.0 TDI is sold.
