DAIMLER SOUTH AFRICA WILL SELL SLS AMG IN 2010

Daimler South Africa, producers of Mercedes-Benz cars and trucks will sell the new SLS AMG in 2010. Company executives confirmed to IN4RIDE that the “gullwinged” supercar is coming this way some time in 2010. Since new dedicated AMG “centres” are being launched countrywide in dealerships like Bedfordview, Menlyn, Umhlanga and Century City, the car would likely be sold through these rather than normal dealer floors.

No prices were mentioned but the US as a comparative is to offer the SLS at a minimum price of US$190,000 (R1.4 million). Trust me the SLS will not cost this low in Mzansi! Expect at least R2 million a piece here.

The SLS AMG is entirely built by the AMG Division as a replacement for the old SLR McLaren. It sports a powerful 6.2-litre V8 making 420kW and 650Nm of torque.
