Jaguar has a new flagship
car. It’s called the Jaguar XJR and
harks back to the days of the old XJR
that really started the super executive
saloon movement. The new XJR will make its public debut at the Motor Expo in
London’s Canary Wharf next week where lucky Londoners can take a closer look at it.
Jaguar did not supply us with much info on the car, except
to say it’s powered by an engine worth 405kW.
However, it’s probably safe to assume that this engine is the same 5.0-litre V8 supercharged that does
active duty inside cars like the XFR and XKR and XKR S. Applied here it should be able to gather pace at a rate of
less than 4.5 seconds from
standstill to 100km/h.
The XJR’s main target will be the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG and the Audi
S8. BMW does not have a competitor
in this space.
