KIA POP ELECTRIC CONCEPT WAITS FOR PARIS 2010

Since the arrival of Peter Schreyer at Kia headquarters, things just ain’t never been the same. Schreyer is a German (born in Bavaria in 1953) who took over the design department at South Korea’s second biggest car brand four years ago at the right time; when the company was looking to expand quite rapidly internationally.

With this Pop Concept car, scheduled to appear at the 2010 Paris International Motor Show, Kia’s design department has taken their new design language into the futuristic car sphere. Pictures released don’t show the new “tiger nose” style on the front grille, so perhaps the Pop is a sign of a new direction for Schreyer and his team.

Some of the technical highlights include the fact that the Pop runs as a zero-emission electric car that sits three people; driver and two passengers. It’s only three metres long, putting it squarely as a competitor to Daimler’s smart fortwo.
