Some lucky AMG
customers in the United Kingdom will
receive an early Christmas present
in the form of the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG
Edition 507. The limited-edition C 63 AMG will be available in the UK from
July and feature some significant upgrades,
including under the bonnet.
We can start there, where the old trusted naturally
aspirated 6.2-litre V8 sits. Mercedes-Benz
is currently preparing for the arrival of the all-new C-Class, due in South Africa in 2014. Of course the car
will come with a new version of the C 63 AMG, possibly with a turbo engine, in 2015. So this is probably the last instance where we will see this
burping engine inside a Merc.
Maximum power has been upped from 336kW in the standard car, to 373kW
(the 507 represents power output measured
in PferdeStarke or PS) and 610Nm of torque. That’s the same amount
of power as the previous-generation BMW
M5 (5.0-litre V10 with SMG gearbox). Merc says the C 63 AMG Edition 507
will reach 0 – 100km/h in 4.2 seconds
for the sedan and coupe, while the Estate does the same
in 4.3 seconds. A top speed of 280km/h is possible.
The cars come with a lovely 19-inch alloy wheel with a Titanium
finish, high gloss finish on the front end and side mirrors, red brake
calipers, and others. The interior has, among others, black glossy trim, some
special contrast stitching and a performance steering wheel.
