When the Volkswagen Golf
IV GTI came out it changed the game once more and revived the GTI name once
again. Recently previous GTIs like the Mk4
and Mk3 did not live up to expectations,
and thus Mk5 became the new legendary
GTI. Tuners got onto it like flies on tripe
and some are still addicted apparently.
Like Schmidt Revolution
of Germany. The tuning house has performed an ECU optimisation, padded on a new sports exhaust system and modified the air intake. The car is
already turbocharged from standard, using the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder VW Group motor. Instead of 147kW, it is tuned to produce 202kW to the front wheels.
Other changes are 225/35R19
Marangoni tyres wrapped around new 19-inch
wheels, the fitting of a lower sports suspension, stuff like the exhaust tailpipes from the old R32 and a powerful Kenwood sound system.
