NEW ENGINES FOR NEW AUDI A6




Since its local introduction in June 2011, the latest generation Audi A6 has unquestionably demonstrated the company ethos of Vorsprung durch Technik with regards to the Audi A6’s aluminium steel construction and technological innovation.

Two new four-cylinder derivatives are now being introduced and, for the first time in South Africa, the A6 will be available with the four-cylinder diesel engine.

The most fuel-efficient engine in the new A6 range is the 2.0 TDI. Almost entirely redeveloped, the four-cylinder unit generates 130kW with an output of 380Nm with the multitronic transmission. It propels the front-wheel-drive Audi A6 from zero to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds, with a top speed of 228 km/h. It requires just 4.9 litres per 100 km and emits only 129g CO2 per km in the combined cycle.

Second in the new line up is the A6 2.0T FSI Multitronic. In this guise, it produces 132kW of power and 320Nm of torque and goes from 0-100 km/h is just 8.3 seconds. The fuel consumption is indicated at 5.4 litres per 100 km with a CO2 figure of 149 grams per kilometre in the combined cycle.

Standard specification includes the latest generation 8-speed multitronic gearbox and 17 inch cast aluminium wheels with the 6-arm design. Interior standard equipment includes the following highlights; Audi drive select with efficiency mode, Milano leather seat trim, MMI radio plus with active speakers and pop display, Audi music interface, wireless Bluetooth Cellphone preparation and voice control.

The extensive range of options on the new A6 includes a range of 18 and 19 inch wheels, LED headlights that are unique to this segment and a range of safety systems, such as, ultrasonic sensors at the front and rear, front and rear cameras, and crash sensors.

The Audi A6 2.0T FSI at R462 000 and the 2.0TDI at R478 000 is available immediately from all Audi Dealers. The price includes a 5-year/ 100 000km Freeway full maintenance plan.
