NEXT SUZUKI SWIFT SAFE AS HOUSES

Suzuki’s all-new Swift subcompact hatchback has been awarded a full five stars by the Euro NCAP safety authority.

The new Swift, which is due for release in South Africa early next year, features electronic stability control as standard, which contributed to its five-star assessment. The hatchback also scored high marks in pedestrian, adult occupant and child occupant categories.

Euro NCAP is considered the world’s definitive automotive safety rating, and assesses the active and passive safety standards achieved by passenger vehicles.

The new Swift not only incorporates exceptional safety measures, but also offers an outstanding mix of performance, build quality, fuel efficiency and low emissions. At the same time, increased dimensions and improved packaging have created an even more spacious and comfortable cabin.

“The new Swift’s five-star Euro NCAP rating vindicates the effort Suzuki’s engineers have put into creating a compelling sub-compact hatchback that is a worthy successor to the current, highly successful model,” says Kazuyuki Yamashita, managing director of Suzuki Auto South Africa.

“We are looking forward to releasing this exciting newcomer onto the local market, where we are sure it will further entrench Suzuki’s growing reputation as a producer of superior compact cars.”

The new Suzuki Swift will be launched in South Africa during the first quarter of 2011. Exact pricing and specification has not been finalised.
