The brand that has pushed this number the highest is the Corolla, having done about 39 million units so far. That means if every Corolla ever built was only for Mzansi, there would be one for every household, with millions more left over for companies and government etc.

FORD FIESTA IS SA'S MOST FUEL-EFFICIENT CAR

The Ford Fiesta Ambiente TDCi manual has been named the most fuel efficient car in South Africa following this weekend’s Total Economy Run. Driven by Stuart Greig and Wynand Gerber the Fiesta used just 4.485 litres per 100km, to claim the overall and Class L laurels.
